Tommy McDevitt, photographer and founder of a new relaxed portrait and headshot business

Introducing Tommy McDevitt Photography | London Canvas

London Canvas is still London Canvas...

And it's still my playground for all things to do with London's skyline, London's architecture and London's landmarks.

But I'm also launching something new alongside it:

Tommy McDevitt photography: a relaxed London portrait photography business for people who want better photos of themselves without the stuff studio energy!

The idea is simple: you probably have thousands of pics on your phone.

Food, friends, pints.

Dogs, sunsets, screenshots which you'll definitely remember to check later.

And perhaps slightly too many pictures of the same bit of sky.

But when you need a decent, current photo of yourself?

Is a selfie ok? If yes, carry on.
If not...you might find yourself in crisis mode, as I have several times.

  • The old LinkedIn headshot.
  • The cropped wedding photo.
  • The dating app picture from eight years ago.
  • And that group shot where someone else's shoulder is obscuring your face...

You know you need new photos.

But selfies are cringe, and asking someone else to do it for you just feels...awkward.

And that's what I'm here to fix.

The shoots are relaxed, natural and outdoors around London. We'll walk, find good light, use proper backgrounds, and take photos as we go.

No rigid studio setup.
No cringe posing.
No pretending to laugh at your laptop in a café.

Just useful, flattering, current photos that actually feel like you!

I'm starting with 3 main services...

  1. Professional headshots in London: for LinkedIn, CVs, company bios and such. Anyone who wants to look credible without looking like they've been summoned to a corporate brochure.
  2. Dating photos in London: for Hinge, Bumble, Tinder and the quiet horror of needing to represent yourself online without looking like you're trying too hard.
  3. Social media photography in London: for freelancers, creators, small business owners or just people whose camera roll makes it look like they were never there.

So if your current photos are outdated, awkward, too formal/blurry or just not quite doing the job anymore, this is the best way to fix it.

You don't need to arrive confident.

You don't need to arrive knowing how to pose like a model...

You just need to arrive.

I'll help with the rest!
