This photo's story

In what is becoming an annual tradition, I was in Bruges with a group of friends during the autumn.

One of our group was keen to get out of the city for a few hours to do something different. So we rented bikes and took the long cycle out of the city towards Castle Loppem.

There were lots of views like this one, though I missed photographing most of them since I was on a bike. But I did get lucky with this stunning autumnal view whilst we were walking between where we'd left our bikes and the castle museum itself!
