Whenever I travel to a new city, I pretty much have to find the highest building and climb it.

Basel, Switzerland, is no different. In this case, one of the prettiest (publicly accessible)  views is at the top of the Münster (I was lucky to get up on such a clear day; the weather didn't hold out that whole trip, let me tell you). The Rhine River is a real spectacle under the view of the city, and it creates such a gentle cityscape - especially when you compare it to that of London - which gently screams out its European character.

Compared to London, the scale feels softer; more contained. It's a view that explains the city without words, settled in its balance and pace.
